PsychoSexual Therapist and Sexual Counsellor for Colchester, Essex, and Sudbury, Suffolk
My name is Sandra Hayes. I am a psychosexual therapist (or sex therapist) serving the Colchester area of Essex and the Sudbury area of Suffolk.
I work with both individuals and couples of any sexual identity (heterosexual, homosexual, lesbian and bisexual). My services are completely confidential and I treat all clients in a caring, non-judgemental manner.
Typical Sex Therapy Sessions
I will never ask you to do anything sexual in the therapy room; all we do there is talk. I may ask you to do some behavioural exercises at home because changing what you do can often change your thoughts and emotions.
I typically use Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), which explores the interaction between how we think, feel and behave. I may also use some psychodynamic techniques, which involve exploring how unconscious thought processes may be reflected in your behaviour.
I see clients initially for an assessment, to ensure Psychosexual Therapy (PST) is the most appropriate thing at this time, then spend several sessions taking client history and discussing my findings. Then I devise a treatment plan with you and commence therapy.
Therapy Cost
£50 for individuals and £60 for couples per 50 minute session.
Counselling for the Colchester Area
I am based at the The Trinity Centre, 20 Trinity Street, Colchester, CO1 1JN. This is convenient for north and mid Essex towns such as Halstead, Braintree, Harwich and Chelmsford. Colchester's good connections with the A120 also make it convenient for Bishops Stortford and Harlow to the west and Harwich and Clacton-on-Sea to the east; the A12 provides a direct route to Brentwood and Romford.
Counselling for the Sudbury Area
I am based at the The ExploringU Counselling Centre For Well-being, The Old Press Room, 54 Station Road, Sudbury, Suffolk CO10 2SP . This is convenient for Suffolk towns such as Haverhill, Ipswich, Bury St Edmunds and Hadleigh. Sudbury's connection with the A131 means that it is just 50 minutes' drive from Thetford, 45 minutes from Newmarket and an hour from Cambridge.
